Pragmatic Revolt

“So what happened to Pragmatic Revolt?”

That is probably one of the most asked questions I expect to get and in some ways, one of the hardest to answer. The simple answer is that it just got too hard to do but that doesn’t really give the reader an answer to the question.

Pragmatic Revolt was a great idea (or at least I thought it was a great idea…) - that being that by writing about the Local and State political situations (as I saw them), I could, in some small way, effect a change. I thought that by pointing out the rather unsavory ways the Dillon City Government operated, that I could impact the way business was done. Unfortunately, I was wrong and it took me a long time to figure it out.

To make matters worse, by publicly pointing out the various ways the Dillon Mayor and his henchmen were screwing over the citizens of Dillon, I painted a very large target on my back. At one point, the Mayor and one of his stooges even had me arrested. After over a year of systematic harassment, it got tiresome. Even after this obvious abuse of power was pointed out in the local newspaper, nothing changed. The Dillon Political machinary continued as before. The breaking point for me was when the Mayor and his cronies agreed to award the Part time City Attorney an even more absurd salary making him the highest paid City Attorney in Montana.

I have decided to return to my original purpose for blogging - to write about the things that are important to me. If I occationally delve into the world of politics, it will be because something caught my eye and I wanted to write about it - let others take on the thankless and painful job of researching the Dillon City Mayor’s shortcomings. It was an almost full time job and one that I no long want to pursue.

For now, I am going to focus on my Knifemaking, my gunsmithing and the hobbies I enjoy. I may change my mind as this year’s local elections heat up but for now - this is where I want to focus my time.
