“So what is this Blog About?”
The name pretty much says it all… This blog is primarily about my Knifemaking and Gun Smithing. Most of the posts here will relate in some way to one of those two topics. Other topics that will appear from time to time include hiking and exploring Montana, Montana life, Gardening, Movies and TV shows. I might even touch on local, state and national politics occationally. Also… let us not forget Zombies. There will certainly be posts about Zombies.
About the Author -
The Moorcat (Kenneth Kailey) has been a custom knifemaker off and on for over 20 years. This will be the fourth shop he has set up in that time (and hopefully, the last..). My interest in guns and gunsmithing date back to my childhood growing up in the Bitterroot Valley. While I have had many occupations including Computer Engineer for Intel Corporation and operating nuclear reactors for the US Navy, it wasn’t until discovering knifemaking that I found my true vocation. I may, in the future work at other things but I will always be a knifemaker.

Likewise, I have done freelance writing since 1984, publishing various articles in survival and outdoor magazines and even a few fiction short stories in Science Fiction magazines. I was never commercially successful but I loved the simple pleasure of writing. With blogging, I have found a new outlet for my love of writing and hopefully I won’t bore you too badly.
I returned to Montana in 2005 after spending 20 plus years on the Northwestern Coast and I will never leave again. My wife, Brittany, and I fully intend to retire here and I will never voluntarily live outside Montana again. Between us, we have five children (all adults) and one grandchild.
Hopefully, you will get to know my world better over the course of the writings here and I hope that in some small way, you find some benefit from it.
